A doctor by background, Michael Farrugia is currently the Minister for Home Affairs and National Security and has been a Member of Parliament for 24 years. He was previously Minister for Health and Care of the Elderly (1996 to 1998), served in the Maltese Parliament’s Social Affairs Committee (1998-2011) and has also served as Main Spokesperson for Health, Elderly Care, Social Security, Social Welfare, Housing, ETC and Cooperatives. He has a wealth of experience in policy-making in the area of health, social affairs and public administration.
