Using digital learning to develop a flexible workforce

The Scottish Social Services Council and the Northern Ireland Care Council have developed approaches to support the ongoing learning and development needs of social services workers and promote workforce flexibility in a context of significant policy and organisational change using digital learning. A key aim is to explore how digital learning can help to address decreasing budgets for learning and development, inefficiencies inherent in traditional approaches to learning and development, access to technology, and e-readiness of staff.
The workshop will give participants an insight into the evidence-based approach to design and deliver digital learning and the support and services developed to enable social service employers to maximise the benefit of digital learning. It will also highlight opportunities to meet the needs of informal carers in designing resources.
